This company helped us do a military move and they went well above and beyond what was expected. All of our belongings were well respected and packed well. They took extra care to wrap every single piece of furniture to ensure they were not damaged during transit. Lourdes, Joni, and Jaime were very nice to talk to and they were professional the entire two days they packed and loaded. Mark was also very nice when going through the pre-move process. I would recommend this company to anyone in the Lompoc, Vandenberg, and Santa Maria area!

Meagan Simmons 18:52 08/29/26

Jaime, Matt, and Cameron were professional, courteous, and friendly while moving my things into my new apartment. They took care when moving things upstairs so as not to damage walls or floors, even around tight corners, and were helpful in arranging things so that I didn't have to rearrange them after they left. I was worried about my animals (dog and cat) with the commotion of moving things in, and in between loads from the truck, they loved on them like their own. I greatly appreciate the service and care, and really appreciate that it took less than a day to get unpacked! Thanks, guys!

Debby Murray 17:46 08/06/26

NO JOB IS TOO SMALL! My husband and I recently purchased 2 double vanities to replace the old ones in the upstairs bathrooms. They came fully assembled and are HEAVY! Despite the fact that my husband is 6'4" and built like a quarterback - it was questionable as to whether he and his friends could get the vanities upstairs without damaging themselves or the vanities. So we called in Lompoc Van and Storage to help. And boy are we glad we did! They were reasonably priced, their crew was very professional and showed up on time, and they got the job neatly and efficiently done. We are very pleased with their services and will definitely call on them again. [Apparently, they provide all kinds of services in addition to helping folks move their belongings from one property to another! For example, they offer packing services and you can hire them to just move furniture from one room to another. So if you are ever in need of even extra help - give them a call!]

We used Vandenberg home and storage for a move of only 20 miles. We decided not to load and unload the same day so we loaded on Monday as we were supposed to close for sure on Tuesday. Well Tuesday became Wednesday, then Thursday and then it finally happened on Friday. Jason at the office was a pleasure to work with. He totally understood and was more than willing to work with us. I cannot say enough about how much we appreciated his attitude during this very difficult time. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!! Thanks so much Jason and everyone at Vandenberg Van and Storage.

Moving Tips for Goleta, CA

Lompoc Van & Storage has moved families and businesses across Santa Barbara County since 1959, from student apartments near UCSB to homes throughout the Goleta Valley. Here are a few tips to make your Goleta move easier, whether you’re doing it yourself or working with our crew.

Plan around the UCSB calendar. Goleta and Isla Vista see a big wave of apartment move-outs at the end of each school year. If your lease ends around the same time, book your movers early, because trucks and crews fill up fast.
Save a spot for the moving truck. Many Goleta apartments and condos have tight parking lots, assigned spaces, or loading rules. Ask your building manager or HOA where a truck can park and whether you need to reserve an elevator or loading area.
Choose climate-controlled storage if you need it. Goleta sits right on the coast. If you need to store belongings between homes, furniture, photos, and electronics hold up better in a secure, climate-controlled warehouse than in a garage or carport.

Living and Moving in "The Good Land"

Goleta goes by the nickname “The Good Land,” a name that traces back to a Spanish expedition diary from 1769. For decades, it was the largest unincorporated community in Santa Barbara County, until it officially became a city on February 1, 2002. About 32,690 people lived in the city as of the 2020 census. Homes here don’t come cheap.

The typical Goleta home value was $1,364,943 as of July 2026, well above the Santa Barbara County typical value of $1,003,268, according to Zillow’s Home Value Index. With that much value on the line, careful packing services and a crew you can trust matter.

Goleta also has a quieter side. The Ellwood Main Monarch Butterfly Grove on Ellwood Mesa is the largest monarch wintering site in Southern California, and the butterflies arrive each year from about October through February. Between the grove, the beaches, UCSB next door, and quick access to Santa Barbara on Highway 101, it’s easy to see why so many people want to call Goleta home.
